You know what really grinds my gears? The Gears Strike Back

It gets worse, they are turning in the Blackpool Illuninations today!

Mrs Steve’s sister (my sister in law) has done the weekly shop today and sent this through this photo to the Family Whatsapp group!

Christmas has very much ā€œarrivedā€ in Sainsbury’s stores

Annoyingly, whilst doing this I noticed someone has hit and scraped the front of my car, leaving an absolute mess of the front bumper. Car’s so dirty I didn’t notice until now. Must have happened in the last week though as I gave it a good once over post-festival on Monday, and it wasn’t there then!

Time to go through a weeks worth of dashcam parking footage and see if I can find the culprit…

I think it might be my boss’ truck :face_with_peeking_eye: :grimacing:

Tomorrow morning might be interesting…

Well, bosses truck had matching marks. But the whole truck is covered in marks/ dents etc. So hard to tell.

Our yard is so tight it would make sense though.

That’s what he typed

Have you had the conversation yet?

Yes, he’s not entirely convinced it was his truck. And tbh, I’m not sure if I am now.

It’s just bizarre. It could only have happened at work or within a few hours when I was parked outside my house on Sunday. Every other time I’ve parked, it’s been nose in with no way to hit the front of my car.

Flew norwegian.

Firstly, landed so hard that it actually physically hurt, like my back aches.

Secondly, Someone in baggage handling has gone through my bag and stole my Vans.

So I now have to spend the evening buying new shoes.

Shoes covered by the airline?

Sadly, if you don’t notice until you are outside the baggage hall (which is generally the case with a case - pardon the pun), the airlines won’t look at any claim.

I had a couple of events with a zipped cases (Travel Pro, so good brand), where the zip had been popped at the bottom & items removed. The zip had been almost ā€œput backā€ so no easily visible signs of disturbance.

After the second one, I went to a hard sided, lockable, case.

Spoke to Norwegian, need to submit a receipt and theyll refund

Looking through Amazon for travel stuff, I saw that you can now easily buy the keys which open the ā€˜TSA’ type combi locks. This will make it easier for the scrotes to enter our cases.

Yeah I’ve never really trusted those locks.
I just have a webbing style strap that wraps and ties around the case.

Easy to cut off/untie if anyone who should needs to open and inspect but would take long enough or be obvious enough to deter anyone who shouldn’t.

Also means should the zip fail while it’s thrown about there’s something else to hold it closed

Thankfully, we have no obligation to use such locks! You can use a normal padlock if you like. But be prepared for it to be cut off if they really want to check your bag…

The easiest solution is a bunch of cable ties. It’s enough of a deterrent for someone who’s just snooping. Reduces the risk of the bag coming undone on its own. And if security need to check your bag, they can easily cut them off, and then put new ones on once they’re done!

This probably doesn’t help in Alex’s situation though, as it was likely someone who had free access to all the bags anyway :man_shrugging:

Gov alert testing happening when we got a training camp planned for 100+ pers

On the way back from Peru I used 3 locks; 2 padlocks with keys and a TSA code lock that had been left behind by a former manager.

I’m not sure whether it happened in Huanchaco, Lima or Bogota, but the TSA lock had been opened using the code whilst the key-based locks were left alone. Luckily, nothing was missing as they had only been able to access the pocket where I stored my wash kit.

Don’t k ow what you’re worried about, they’d an Airshow at Duxford that day :rofl::rofl:
