Oh, it’s an emergency alright. But it’s their emergency that you get to watch unfold from the sideline.
Hell, even with la directora sometimes I need to remind her that a failure to plan on her part does not constitute an emergency on mine. But that’s just Peruvian culture where I’m not sure they fully understand what planning actually is.
And horizon scanning is going to the beach to watch the sunset.
Opposite issue, struggle to get some of newer officers to pick up the phone.
“Have you spoken to the victim?”
“I emailed them last week but they haven’t responded”
“Do they pick up the phone when you call?”
“I don’t know”
“An issue on your part, does not constitute an emergency on mine.”
When cadets turn up on the start time on the SMS app and NOT the start time on the JIs. Especially when the start time on SMS refers to the activity start time, the time for staff to arrive and set up and not for cadets to turn up and be looked after.
Theoretically overcome by amending the Cadet Portal tab details in SMS, but an event organiser doesn’t control those when inviting other units.
Slight flaw.
Even worse when non directing staff turn up and expect to be looked after!
I Reg 13’d a lad and this was a large part of the problem, complete lack of doing his job (amongst other issues) I’m pretty sure he was afraid to use the phone which compounded a lot of his issues.
I trust we’re not talking about a warranted Constable here?
Not anymore, he’s now a shift manager for a fast food establishment.
Still the same. Although support team are looking into it. Same when hard wired in. Think the router is dead
Turn it off and on again?
(Gen might help as sometimes it forces the router to do a new handshake with the network)
RIP Router, you served Alex so well.
In other news, everyone who is on 4G in the middle of Wales finally has faster internet than Mr Corbin
Think broadband, just think about it. Specifically think about broadband in 2005.
I almost feel sorry for them. They’re just not adequately prepared for life in the real world.
That they are employed is down to senior managers, who manages the managers when they can make decisions like this?
The fact they are employed is due to the Tories and LivDems cutting 20,000 cops, 10,000 police staff and destroying terms and conditions, whilst requiring new recruits to either have a degree or do a degree as part of their training.
They then decided they needed to recruit 20,000 cops into what is now an unattractive career and therefore created a position where the recruitment standard was “do you have a degree, all your limbs and the ability to wear a high-viz jacket? Welcome aboard”
