One of the differences is that many ACF perm staff aren’t CS, they’re RFCA.
Other things aside, RFCA aren’t prevented from hiring at the moment.

Shes been in the hairdressers for 4 hours…
Surely you’ve been in the pub for four hours
Driving!
She moans my 1 hour hair cut and beard trim takes the biscuit
How does a haircut and beard trim take an hour. Cranditz many moons ago, 30 new DIOT cadets for haircut only took 20 minutes. It was like shearing sheep, and you had to leave a tip as well. At least SERE Course it was a bit more civilised, still had to leave a tip though.
Gotta keep up my hipsterness
This isn’t the first time this has happenedX we had the same thing during austerity. The difference is that this Commandant doesn’t trust volunteers so lots of work has been heaped onto the paid staff, which is fine but we don’t have enough paid staff.
GMG my over night ferry to Jersey is delayed.
Also wish i bought a cabin , it basically a booze cruise
Get involved?
Is this the same person who allegedly alienated many Regulars, CFAV, cadets & parents at a recent high profile AT event run by the Army? If so are the two linked?
No idea I’m afraid.
Yay. Professional membership fees time again.
And they’ve made a massive thing about them having raised them - but have kept the increase below inflation.
Great.
Except my pay rise this year was significantly less than inflation too. And smaller than the membership fee hike too… And given that 90% of the membership comes from the public sector, it’s a little bit of a Mickey take that 90% of the membership has no option but to swallow that bitter pill - or face being made unemployed because we’re not allowed to practice because we’re not on the register!!!
Bulked quite a bit for this powerlifting stuff I’ve got myself doing…
So my No1s don’t fit…
First available tailors appointment - 28th August…
Estimated delivery date of uniform - April-July next year…
Excused parades and formal inspections then, what’s not to like?
Normally I’d agreed with you, but part of the Tg1 offer at the minute is supervisors don’t do guard or ceremonial unless they ask for it so I’m excused that anyway.
More annoyed about November. Only time I wear it.
Surely all the dividends and money not spent on infra can be knocked off the price when renationalising?
The thing I find absurd about the argument it will cost a lot to renationalise is the concept that they’re worth anything. They need renationalising because they’re awful and neglected, with their value coming from their necessity.
They’ve already harvested them for everything they can, they’re lucky they don’t go to jail.
While I’m late to the party, just Nottingham Station in general. Which is kind of strange, given it is a termini for EMR and CrossCountry trains. You’d think they’d make sure it was relatively cheap.
Oh well.
While we’re on the topic of nationalisation, railways perhaps?
The railways have been nationalised for a long time. The running of the trains themselves is outsourced to companies, some of which may still be privately owned, but they pay for the privilege of running on government railways, to government timetables, with many of their fares regulated.
When the railways were genuinely private they grew from nothing to their peak, which has never been surpassed in the post nationalisation period of managed decline, including but not limited to be Beeching reforms.
On the phone to HMRC… That’s all
Have you reached the top of the queue yet?!
