You know what really grinds my gears? The Gears Strike Back

Sir, is it true you are resigning? I saw it on a meme page so it must be true?

Where is the email notifying me of this?

Due to my role, I spend most of my time on SMS or Emailā€¦and only drift onto Sharepoint if i need to check a referenceā€¦and then its hyperlinked to the locationā€¦

Maybe you can ask that on the dial-in! :grimacing:

It does say that full info will be in this weekā€™s brief. But yeah, could have been itā€™s own email

anyone else having issues accessing SMS?

It ditched me out while reviewing activities

That is its SOP round here.

I usually turn it off and on again. Or do something else and try again later (or forget so to doā€¦)

You must work in IT as that seems to be the standard approach to fixing IT issues

Turns out MHs lifetime warrenty only applies if you buy directly from themā€¦ I am annoyed.

Yes the jacket is almost 4 years old, but it was very expensive, and should have lasted significantly longer.

It works.

I was really happy when Berghaus introduced repairhaus and replaced the broken zip and re did all the seams on my original 1997 Mera Peak anf did some velcro repaira on my 2015 coat for the grand sum of Ā£13 postage to send both jackets to them

Was going to mention my very positive experience with Paramo, Keela and Alpkit when sending stuff in the repair - and then coming back not only fixed under warranty, but also washed and reproofed. Iā€™ve also heard similar stories from Patagoniaā€¦ But realised @JoeBloggs probably wouldnā€™t appreciate hearing that right nowā€¦

I am still annoyed that someone who wonā€™t be named threw out my Munro. It was the original green and therefore ally, and as we knowā€¦

I need to know more about this.

I bought one of their tents a few years ago. Have used it a grand total of 3 times and bits are falling off everywhere.

Just Google ā€˜repairhausā€™

Not sure if there are any limitations jackets/coats they definitely do :+1:

GMG:

Blue DofE sports is apparently too competitive/focussed too much on assessment and has to be rewritten to be more fun! Then we wonder why so many cadets have been struggling with entry level fitness tests for the forces.

We really arenā€™t instilling the right attitude and resilience in these young people anymore (at least with sports), are we?

Where has that come from? Our cadets love the pre DofE as it gets them outside and is one activity we can do which isnt a PowerPoint!

But the DofE isnā€™t designed for the Forcesā€¦? Itā€™s an in house complement to a civvy award which has a very separate ethos.

My bad, I should have explained where this message came from; a HQAC sports officer.

Itā€™s not the DofE bit thatā€™s the issue, but the bit that seems to be suggesting that assessments and competitiveness are problems. Itā€™s all a bit too ā€œparticipation medalā€
