WOs Nov Conference

Has anyone heard any feedback from the recent WOs conference?
Was the buffet good etc etc?

There was no scheduled breakfast or lunch but instead they put on a brunch, which was less than impressive. Saturday tea was OK but nothing to write home about. Plenty of coffee through the day but no biscuits and not even a whiff of cakes.

Oh, and it was in Dec.

Usually some wing gets a bit overexcited and posts this information on Sharepoint don’t they?

I can see that one Wing Warrant Officer has uploaded a document about dress standards and that if they deem the dress standards of an individual to be below the level expected then that person is not permitted to wear uniform.

That letter came out last week IIRC to all OCs (at least it did down my way).

As a result of the conference’s discussions?

The first three speakers (CACWO, TG4 and Cmdt AC) all independently (to much amusement) drew attention to the Lincoln Situation which has been discussed here in the past and Cmdt AC made the point which is stated in the letter mentioned.

Pardon me for asking but Lincoln situation?

PM if needs be but…wah?

A rather large poorly dressed officer on parade I seem to recall. No need for a photo, mainly cos we’ll remove it.

Thanks.

Wasn’t looking for a photo or anything, just wanted to know what we were referring to!

See…calling it ‘the Lincoln Situation’ makes it sound far more exciting than it really is.

Personally, I prefer ‘Blimpgate’.

This was discussed on the first sqn cdrs course at the ATF.

They want to reintroduce the fitness element to the officer selection to stop this happening again. But how doing a fitness test once at the beginning of your officer career influence your body shape in thirty years time is beyond me.
Perhaps HQAC should pay for my gym membership (£30 a month)and tell my wife why I have to miss that visit to the in-laws and go to the gym instead.

Let’s keep on topic please.

Anything else interesting discussed?
Anything else interesting discussed?
They decided on which pattern of tie they preferred.

Plain black?

Not for uniform, silly…

Pink and white polka dot?

Can’t remember the outcome because I honestly couldn’t have cared less.

[Strike]I can’t find the letter using that url.[/strike]

For what?
