Fg Off pay used to be time based - increments of 1 year. That’s possibly why there is around £35 per day difference between Flt Lt and Fg Off, but only £10 difference between Fg Off and Plt Off
Always used to annoy me that our old contingent commander got paid double what I received for rocking up and looking pretty when I did all the admin, organising and running of the event.
Apparently the new rank slides have started arriving with (at least some) Wing HQs.
Could they actually have this sorted in time for the 31st!?

Depends on whether they’re actually getting involved or just drinking tea and walting around in their uniform (including wearing their 5s and medals to every black tie event they attend regardless of RAFAC/Forces connection)

I’d say that depends. When I was OC of a squadron in a very civil active town I was invited to Civic Functions as the local squadron commander. So not a military function, but I was representing.

Love the fact they don’t mention that also 2 FTS members that are Master Aircrew will also get to wear their T & LS and therefore 2 versions of this rank slide.
That’s because the yellow ones are the official pattern

Just checking about the rank slides to see if anyone in the other wings have received them as I haven’t received any notification from my WHQ. I couldn’t wear uniform for remembrance day (VPN) as no rank slides.They seem to be sold out by most of the usual companies. Cadet direct sells 1 pair for £8.95 including postage but someone told me they were not very good. Any tips on where to get them and also the No. 1 cloth badge seems to be non existent at the moment.

Cloth badges are certainly a challenge! The ones from nearly all the retailers on line are incorrect (cadet kit shop looks like a toddlers been asked to draw them!)
I managed a set of issue no 1 badges from ebay… I feel they should have been issued! I know some colleagues managed to use the chocolate biscuit technique and get them from stores
I don’t think that should be issued, there is no requirement or expectation for WOs (except RWO and maybe WWO) to have No1 you can spend money on them if you wish. But if the uniform type is not issued you shouldn’t get rank slides for it.
As an WO you should be able to buy the cloth badges from stores. Or via your local military tailor.

I was the WWO and was issued No. 1s. I stepped down a few years ago so I take it I should be issued with them?
No, you get to retain your No1s but are no longer scaled for them so there is no requirement for you to ever where them.
Take them to a tailor and ask them to re rank to RAF WO.
Took mine in lately for adding of Flt Lt Braid, all I did was give the jacket and then pay them
