Wilf San, aka Graham Wilf Taylor

Its with great sadness that we must announce that our resident ATC history expert, and expert on many things related to the RAF and uniforms, Wilf-san, passed away on Friday 14 February 2025.

In the real world, Graham was OC of 1743 Crieff Squadron, and was “such an integral part of [the] squadron and the local community and will be sadly missed by all.”

He was always a valued presence on the forums, and he will be greatly missed.

That is indeed sad news. Condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.

Very sad. The forum will be a poorer place without him. My condolences to his friends, family, and ATC colleagues.

Very sad news. Have had many chats with Wilf san over the years and he was an absolute gem. So genuine, supportive and eager to help. A true loss to his family and friends, squadron and the wider RAFAC community.

I didnt know Wilf personally, but always enjoyed his historical insights.

My condolences to the entire forum team, those that knew him and those that didn’t. His friends, family and his RAFAC Team.

Godspeed Sir!

Knew @wilf_san from the forum on here & then had the fortune of being on the same Sqn cdrs course.

A wonderful week getting to know him in person & see him being robust about the history of the RAF off forum as he was on it.

A complete gentleman, easy in demeanour & sage in advice & experience.

Will be sadly missed both on here & in the wider corps.

Thanks,

As a member of his sqn as a cadet and on honour guard for the funeral (yes I know it’s a big no no to mention personal sqn but in this instance I’m not bothered) The amount of support and condolences from everyone has been unreal and SQN staff and cadets of said sqn and his family cannot be more thankful for it we’ve received it from all across wing and from the ACF and SCC and all inbetween. But coming across this post fully cements his impact and legacy upon everyone within RAFAC and civilian life as if that wasn’t already known since he was an amazing man taking me in on sqn and first AEF and helping everyone in his community across the country and local area. If your wondering how the SQNs doing at the moment we are all holding strong and continuing onward and upwards in full remembrance of Graham as he would have wanted. Thank you so much for posting this it truly makes me so happy to have an amazing OC and see his affection upon others

It’s really touching to see the impact just one person has clearly had on the lives of so many, and on our organisation.

I’m glad that everyone has so much positivity on which they can reflect and in which they can find solace.
