Good point. On my first SNCO tour I was AHR and living in the Mess, but didn’t attend any functions due to not being entitled to that initial issue of No. 5s. It took a couple of years to get on IMLC after my board, so I eventually invested in a dinner suit, sqn cummerbund, and miniatures.
