I’ve been selected for bronze field craft in just over a week and they haven’t distributed joining instructions or a kit list. I have my memoir from blue however if someone could show me their kit list for maybe a past event or advice on gear to bring that would be brilliant.
Harribos, sleeping bag, roll mat, warm clothes, waterproofs. They normally provide a bergen, food, bivy bag, sheet and webbing. I would suggest gloves too and a pillow plus about 4 pairs of socks

Woolly hat, gets cold at night / on sentry duty (“stag”). Any dark colour will do.
Some plastic bags (ideally ziplock) to keep things dry and it doesn’t hurt to put a spare binbag in the bottom of your daysack for wet kit.
Hand sanitiser and some loo roll (in a small bag as above!)

Camping pillows are fine. So is a rolled up Norwegian shirt or smock!

Safe system of training should mean that cadets are only allowed to use issued sleeping bags, roll mats, and waterproofs, etc. Maybe different wings and orgs.

The only time is when squadrons or wings have gone out and purchased it… to then issue.
But then it isn’t issued kit, and so that user’s point isn’t valid.

Only 2 CFAV need to stay in same conditions as cadets 
If something is within the SST, it just means it can happen without further risk assessment (beyond dynamic RA for weather of course), but in practice it is rarely the case that an activity falls 100% within the SST by default, there is always deviation. Deviation from the SST requires further risk assessment. In your example, it is rare for sleeping bags to be provided for cost reasons. We would then assess the risk for personnel using their own equipment. The hazard is that it may not be suitable. We mitigate the risk by doing a kit check and ensuring all equipment used is appropriate for the activity.
