What do you do for staff cadets etc accessing training?

What do you do for likes of staff cadets and any MOI cadets who are teaching courses and need access to the training materials on training hub. I try to download what i can for them to access but some i find i have to logon to bader training hub and then let them access whatever materials ,presentations etc for teaching which is always a pain.

It would be good if there was a way MOI cadets etc could access training hub materials themselves.

At the moment, that’s all you can do. Officially, they’re not supposed to have access to SharePoint but it’s the most practical way without risking duplicated resources going out of date.

I believe a solution for cadets to access these things is in the works.

What @Jimothy said. According to information management best practice, downloading local copies should not be part of any solution (not that the versions on SharePoint are that up-to-date).

Yes that’s what i thought they complain if we let them access it with our account but there is no other way. Hopefully they do come up with a solution to this soon.

Would also love to see them do a dummy cadet portal account for staff to access and be able to show new cadets. As always get questions about it but can’t show them.

Realistically in the ideal world they would login to their own Bader learn account, and assign a course as a “tutor” so as to not to confuse the system. The problem is if you start a course as a student it assigns it to you as doing that course rather than instructing it.

And most course materials aren’t on Learn…

That is a major weakness - staff cannot see Cadet Portal! Separare to a total lack of knowledge on what it shows, how it functions, etc, it’s often quicker to ask a cadet for signed up names for something rather than log-in to SMS, locate the event, then trawl through any sub-events!

Helping cadets use CP is an excellent opportunity to utilise experienced cadets and save yourself some time

We do - but it’s still essential to have knowledge of the "product’ rather than know very little about it - & sometimes we have emails from parents / guardians / cadets about forthcoming weekend activities, etc, & we have to point them in the right direction on Cadet Portal (as we don’t have a "parent Portal’ as such).

Oh I agree, it is frustrating.

Yes totally agree i try to use older cadets to show demonstrations but doesn’t stop questions from cadets and parents which can be difficult to answer since we don’t have access to it.
