What are you watching?

I thought it was clever how they showed her decisions negatively impacting on her life because she was given so many helping hands. I love how it showed the impact of domestic abuse that wasn’t necessarily physical. Brilliant television.

I’ll have to give it a look

As @AlexCorbin said, it isn’t my usual watch. It’s quite hard hitting and feel good at the same time, bit of an emotional rollercoaster. 10 episodes of about 1 hour each on Netflix.

I’ve gone and bought Ready Player One off of Amazon as it’s my favorite film and it’s a shame that they took it off of Netflix.

Is anyone able to explain exactly wth is happening on Doctor Who?

Only that I’m counting down until a credible head writer takes over again. Awful scripts, awful story ideas, awful characterisation and a complete waste of Jodie Whittaker taking on a ground breaking role. I feel sorry for her really.

Definitely forget to watch it… last week was so confusing!

Also saw Dune last night… visually stunning, but similarly hard to keep track of what was going on. (fortunately having read the book I was able to answer most of Ms. Vz questions)

They’re setting something up (again) but it’s all just a muddle in the meantime with too much being introduced and progressing at once via stark jump cuts. What happened to fluid themes and call-backs, that you could follow along with and then go “aha!..ohhhhhh” when the drop came?

You should still be able to follow at least MOST of the plot and know how it relates - it’s reached the point in its decline that it’s just not fun to watch any more.

…I think it’s pretty good.

But then, I can see some good in The Gunfighters.

I went back and watched it again. Did not regret it

Dune is always going to be confusing as a film rather than a series. Too much detail to put in

I’m not sure even Chibs can explain it, tbh. Even Moffatt’s convoluted storylines were easier to follow than this…

I have to admit I’m enjoying watching this series more than his other 2, but then neither of them set a particularly high bar for me. It’s a shame, really, because we know Chibs can produce quality content and I was so excited to see Jodie Whittaker take on the role. As with @pEp, I feel sorry for her.

I’m also not convinced RTD will necessarily be the saviour the show needs because I’m not sure where else he can take it, but it can’t get any worse.

I’m not feeling the excitement or tension because I’m being pulled so many directions. You’re trying to focus and work out one bit then it’s just “wait, what?!”

i.e. Who’s she…oh, why is there a weeping angel…who’s the dog and what’s he want with Dan…SONTARANS now?!! Wait, Cybermen - ok where are the bloody Daleks going to spring from?

It’s a shame, because the Ravagers seem quite interesting characters to me - maybe now we’re into that bit it will calm down slightly

With more thought then when I watched 1&2 back to back, part of me understands the chaos is inherent to the greater threat, but it didn’t translate into pleasant viewing.

Have the afternoon off. So home with the family.

My two girls are watching cbeebies, and “Time for School”. The school class is making poppies.

So I asked my eldest (3.5yrs old) “why are they making poppies?”

She replied, sweetly, “to remember daddy.”

“what are we remembering?”

“soldiers…and…pilots…”

“what about sailors?”

“…and sailors… They keep us all safe.”

I think my work is done…

I’m hoping they don’t ruin it

I’ve seen a trailer and read a review. It looks atrocious.
