Oh that looks fab - I love GovUK Notify but managing the lists to go into it is just a pain…

I wonder if it’ll have the same mail merging and templating features though.

Edit: Ah seems not, in that case I suspect I’ll just be sticking to notify…

Yeah I’m similar to you @ash, removing the need to manage mail lists is brilliant, but I don’t understand why gov notify templates are unsuitable.

Instead of utilising the API and implementing Mail App in VP it sounds as if we’re trying to create Gov Notify from scratch.

Reinventing the wheel?

I could even manage quite happily without the personalisation on the templates, but not having (even fixed) templates at all is very much a dealbreaker for me to want to swap over. My library of “you’ve been selected for flying you need to do xyz” etc is too useful and would be too annoying to have to retype each time or copy-paste.

This link just takes me to the SharePoint homepage - what am I doing wrong? :joy:

Yeah all SP links on here have been doing that to me recently when they embed…

Hmmm TIL

They didn’t used to, it’s something I think I’ve only noticed recently? It was the same with Alex’s feedback form link for V5 in that thread

Thank you - do we know why?

I suspect it’s:

  • Discourse follows the link with its crawler to get the content for the embed
  • SharePoint detects the crawler isn’t authenticated and responds with a redirect to the login page instead of the actually linked page content.
  • Discourse then oneboxes that redirected content to the login page, which when we click it (being logged in) completes successfully and dumps us back at the homepage as standard after a login.

An admin/mod could add the SP domain to the list of blacklisted domains to be oneboxed though, as there’s nothing meaningfully that can be embedded without a login anyways

Why that means it worked before? No clue…
