Just saw a video on the bbc that the Victor gate guardian at Marham as been disassembled and ‘parts’ will be displayed at various places.
Even though it was offered for free, the maintenance and transport costs were too high for someone or an org to take on.
Am I right in thinking that was the last ‘intact’ victor?
Bit sad, no money could have been found to relocate it. Perhaps even store one of each of the ‘V Force’ at the same museum.
Another time i wish I was a millionaire…
Imagine phoning RFCA or WHQ up and telling them of the new Sqn gate guardian…

Pretty sure you can see the full V Force at RAF Cosford Museum

No, there’s one (XL231, ‘Lusty Lindy’) at Elvington museum outside York. It’s in a semi-live state and does full power runs down the runway.

Concord has all 3 V Bombers and London has just a Vulcan.

I think there’s still one outside Carlisle (International) Airport. Or is that a Vulcan?
I think there’s still one at Bruntingthorpe isn’t there?

There are 4 surviving complete Victor airframes:
XH648 (a B1A / K2P) at Duxford
XH672 (a K2) at Cosford
XL231 (a K2) at Elvington
XM715 (a K2) at Bruntingthorpe
The last two are in taxiable condition.

It’s U2’s next album cover photo:
How to dismantle an atomic bomb(-bay)
I like how predictive spelling has used the proper spelling for a superb airrcraft, none of this “appease the French” malarkey from Tony Benn
