When you log into MOMIDS (eg. to check WBGT forecast) you get a message saying that the current platform will be decommissioned in summer 2025, and replaced by a new system.
The FAQs document states that existing shared usernames and passwords will be deactivated (this is how RAFAC currently access the platform) and that all users will be required to have an individual account.
There is also an opportunity to sign up to be a beta tester on the new platform.
Does anyone know who at HQAC is the contact for MOMIDS? It’s enough of a pain to access and use the current system, so I want to get ahead of the changes, ideally by accessing the beta platform, figuring out how the individual usernames and passwords will work, and preparing some guidance for CFAVs.
Side note: At 450+ locations, the existing alphabetically-sorted list of WBGT locations was getting hard to use. So I asked Met Office for the coordinates of each location and plotted them on a map, which you can access here. It’s helpful for finding the nearest registered location. I plan to update it every 6 months.
Had confirmation from Safety Centre that this is being looked into, and volunteered to be part of the Met Office beta testing group so we can assess the impact on CFAVs.
I was going to mark this as the “solution” so it closed the thread, but I’ll leave it open for further discussion about MOMIDS changes.
