Having spent some quite considerable time several months ago ensuring that all of my cadets have an Ultilearn password that actually makes sense and comes in a memorable format, it now turns out that I can’t actualy ************* ***** ***** ************** ****** *************** ******* ********** ************ ***** ** **************** ************************ log in on any of the accounts and have had to send of for password resets so that I can waste more of my precious time doing the whole *********** ********** **** ************* ****** ********** *********** ************ **************************** ********** ******** ************ ****** process all over again.
I’ve done easy to remember passwords for staff and cadets and found it to be bloody nightmare.
Staff asked me about training to use it, I gave them the booklet that was on Bader and said crack on and let me know when you’ve figured it out. Everytime I put a cadet up for an exam it takes ages as it’s so over involved.
I’ve never had proper training on any ATC software/databases. It wouldn’t be allowed to happen at work. I’ve used a number of different software packages at work over the years and been able to figure it out. I’ve not come across anything since the earliest databases we had, less intuitive and cumbersome than what we have in the Corps. It’s “improved” and updated apparently, but not for the benefit of the end user … the volunteer staff. Probably because we never had any training. They bang on about training staff and yet the things we use or are expected to use most days we get nothing.
The person(s) responsible for the introduction of Ultilearn should be hung, drawn and quartered and their remains left hanging outisde HQAC as reminder of what lies ahead for anyone doing likewise.
I’ve heard that they going to put all First Aid training resources on Ultilearn … here ends First Aid training in the Corps.
But the DLP is used properly… ie it is a learning portal comtaining interactive online courses and assessments. I imagine if it was being used as a file store / dumping ground for Powerpoint, pdf and word documents then it too would not be as effective.

That said it IS a lot easier to navigate.
MW[/quote]Even so, as an online exam tool it’s streets ahead.
