Trump's Second Term Chat

this is very much the point many have made (not on here)

Donald was born 1946 - Biden 1942.
I am not suggesting Donald will be like Biden in 2029 but it is hard to claim DT will be in a physically fit state in years to come

agreed.

but i am playing the stats card here, on the basis there have been 46 previous Presidents (including himself in his first term) who were not anti-rest of the world, i am currently confident that the 48th President will not be as “extreme”

yes you are right, but these are not “almost ready” to suggest the project can be sped up and brought into service to remove the reliance on USA and DT’s cooperation

Well considering the US was isolationist into the 1st world war then number is significantly less than 46, you also have to consider the risk that Vance gets it next (I doubt it but it’s a chance).

Ultimately a pivot away from the US is a “them problem”, likewise ignoring things like their desire to change the NATO standard round, any future standardisation should be based on what Europe wants not the US.

Anyone else expecting a Putin/Medvedev style switch at some point?

Likewise I’m pretty sure I remember talks in the public domain in the 90s of the JSF programme already underway - what later became F35.

The change to the constitution to allow that would be as hard to get through as allowing Trump a 3rd term and Trump has far more chance of winning an election than Vance.

Pretty sure the IDF has its own software build.

Could Vance appoint Trump as a Supreme Court judge?

I think in the American system there’s no requirement to be a trained judge.

The only F35 operator to have that I believe

He could in theory do that. Though even the most die hard Trump supporters in the senate would be unlikely to confirm his appointment.

So as well as the aid stopage, today we have the new tariffs too! I think Trudeau puts it quite well:

We do know one of Trumps weaknesses, joined-up writing

I was live earlier today and the amount of worried Americans who aren’t in the “Roger Red Hat Cult” was a little worrying. They are obviously on the front lines, so to speak, and have neighbours who idolise the failed businessman who only surrounds himself with “yes” people.

I thought living next to a Tory was something to worry about, republicans are from another planet.

I love how ontario has now gone no more us procurement on government stuff…oh and starlink, you can do one too. In one move the US lost quarter of a trillion of guaranteed trade which ultimatley will just be delivered by canadian business now

Can’t Fly a left wing and cockpit without the rest of the jet

similar to how is was in russia a few years ago, only 2 terms At a time , hence why Putin “stepped back” as PM for 4 years before resuming as president (I think he’s on his 4th consecutive term now)

I think BadyVlady is giving his mate some tips…

MTG will still try pass a bill to give him an exemption

FTFY

I think putin changed the post-soviet Russian constitution to enable this.
