As a cadet, how do i go about transferring to another squadron? Thanks

Ask the other Sqn OC

Workflow takes place on SMS

Transfer happens

Conversation with your current CO, conversation with potential new CO.

Then email from parent to current CO to advise of transfer & date of when it takes effect cc-ing new CO. Allow two weeks or so for things to be sorted.

Uniform transfers with you but other stores you’ve returned from your current Sqn.

Then it’s just a case of arrange any outstanding unit related finances (outstanding subs, refunding of any deposits etc) & then the Sqn transfer your record on SmS once everything done.

From a couple we’ve done recently, it’s the other sqn that has been the lead.

For example, they might be in a recruitment phase & could be tight on numbers based on their accommodation limitations.

Would they see an address as being potentially limiting? The cadet might live quite a distance away which could restrict participation?

Unlikely, but a possibility - if a cadet is an SNCO, would it fit with the current ratio & team aspects?

Not needed for any cadet to discuss here, but if the reasons for moving sqn are relating to personal issues (personality conflicts at existing sqn, moving school due to bullying, family relationship issues, etc), then a transfer might require a lot more consideration.
