It seems if it isn’t ATC or a nationally recognised q then it doesn’t count for diddly
Dogsbody, i learned a long time ago that each organization has its own Train set and wont let anyone play with it unless they do everything how they want it
As a CFAV with the ACF the first thing i learned was patience, not for working with the kids, simply with the way the organisation works. It reminds me every day how lucky i am working for a non government organisation for my day job
it is a case of getting everyone to the minimal level.
there are some very competent former regulars who are now CFAVs and although their time in the RAF/Army is acknowledged it isn’t (formally) recognised.
the two organisations (RAF and ATC) are vastly different in so many ways and some forget this. going to Cranwell for example to “learn” how to be a CFAV is a stepping stone to understanding the difference
As holding a commissioned with the ACF and holding all key courses (KG6, SAAI, and short/long/DCCT range quals) I have been told I can directly transfer to the ATC at the same level.
