That alone would be an enormous success and he could sit back for the rest of his term.
Though seriously the impact it would have is great, so often staff get fed up of the ridiculous long winded process and ■■■■■■ off. If we can keep them then more staff means a bigger chance of activities being covered and therefore a better experience for the cadets
Agreed especially as having done written copies of everything, now i’ve been asked to redo it digitally with e-signature. (I barely had enough time to do it all the first time round)
Hearing through the grapevine and jungle drums that he’s sent a rocket up the various RCs to get cadets back doing things physical.
Gets my vote.
Great… I applaud this.
But has he not heard of covid?
Obviously allowing for that… But a case of “other organisations are back, don’t let us get left behind”.
what i am hearing is:
“RC’s if CFAVs are putting all the necessary measures i place to make it ALARP say yes - dont be a willy and stop it simply because you can”
perhaps I am overly optimistic but from what I have seen from our Wing is everything needs to be seen by the RC…and is becoming a blocker/bottle neck
perhaps TK is simply trying to unstick the sticking point?
Obviously this will not happen in wales with its local lockdowns and now the circuit break.
We had 7 sqns in my wing that were not in lockdown area but only 4 were given the go ahead to start the prep for reopening. Perhaps this is what he is on about.
Also, a lot of CCFs appear to be parading as normal (with precautions). The schools are open so why shouldn’t the CCFs be? And social media has lots of lovely pictures. But that does make community cadet units look weak if they aren’t (which is a bit unfair as the rules for ‘out of school clubs’ are different)
(trust me on the latter point, I run school choirs and also an ‘out of school’ one, and it’s not the same at all)
30 day is a bonus, when I got my last one, it was 19 days, which is a pretty random number. The STEM Learning network, has just sent out a reminder, to say the my extended (due to COVID) DBS clearance is expiring in the New Year, so they’re starting the process now. The RAF Youth & STEM Team are able to track this too. Good Luck.
