'The Corps is About the Cadets'

Does anyone know where I can find that document that starts with ‘the corps is about the cadets’?

I might be mis-remembering it but hopefully someone will know what I’m on about, I think but I’m not sure that it was Gaz Tonk’s work.

[center]The Cadet

The Cadet is the most important person in our Corps.

The Cadet is not an interruption to our work; the cadet is the purpose of it.

The Cadet is not an outsider in our Corps; the Cadet is part of it.

We are not doing the Cadet a favour by serving them; the cadet is doing us a favour by giving us an opportunity to do so.

Fantastic, thank you so much.

This should be nailed up over the door into HQAC in 12 inch high letters and read out before every staff meeting at Squadron, Wing, Region and HQAC, like we do with the exhortation at RBL meetings.
It might remind our salaried uniformed colleagues that without cadets their RAF lifestyle would have ended some time ago.

As much as I think vision and mission statements are a waste of space, this covers both adequately for the ACO.

Couldn’t agree more.

I would concur with both the previous comments. Having had a bit of a bumpy ride regarding policies & paperwork recently, I would say a lot throughout the organisation have certainly forgotten this.

This mantra is at the very heart of everything I do. Everything I do is for the cadets because without them I would not be the OC of a squadron with a very proud history, and a very bright future. They inspire ME to achieve and I always feel humbled when I get to present them with the fruits of their labour. It is a shame that some people lose sight of this fact though.
