If they have done a week at OIC they can survive. Ta not takeshis castle you know.
I may be missing something here, but surely if they’re on camp then they’ve done OIC, therefore they’ve had all of their mess etiquette lessons?
Over time and from what I’ve seen turn up in my mess, that doesn’t make much difference with some… lol
That’s my view - if an ‘officer’ hasn’t got the weight in his sack to walk into a hotel bar, has this ‘officer’ got the weight in his sack to tell a 35 year WO(ATC) that what he’s doing is unsafe and that he is to stop, RTFN?
You know, the thing he’s been commissioned to do?
Hotel bars don’t tend to have strictly enforced rules on outdoor coats and bags, as an example…
I’ve never been to a mess - and I was an Army Officer for more than a decade - that strictly enforced rules about coats, hats, bags or anything else when a visiting officer arrived for the first time.
To do so would be the height of arsey rudeness, as it’s the actions of a complete throbber to expect a visitor to know the rules if a place he’s not visited before.
Perhaps its a service problem, not a Mess problem?
