Taking over a squad

Hi,

When you have a squad doing drill, of any size. And you are changing the commanding person over, what is the official procedure?

As the way we do it on my squadron is the person taking over stands to the right of the person currently taking it. Then the person taking it turns right to face the other person. Then they take 1 pace left and the other person marches up next to them and then the person can fall in/out.

Also, after a DI came to are squadron he said that every squadron does it differently based off traditions, but there’s got to be an official way.

Bring squad to attention then let the other person take over. Then you either ask for permission to fall in or you go off to other duties
Then the new person in command proves the flight
