Swimming

Random question, cant seem to find it on bader. Can any staff member sign off a basic swimming but a qualified person for intermediate and advanced or does it have to be a qualified person regardless…

It used to be in an ACPedTI, which are in the controlled documents part of sharepoint.
Or just type swimming proficiency into the sharepoint search bar.

From Memory all Swimming Proficiency claims need to be signed by a qualified lifeguard or swimming teacher. I used to just ask the duty lifeguard to sign the form, then would run the proficiencies myself.

It is ACPEDTI 005

Any staff can sign for the basic certificate but a qualification is needed for intermediate and advanced:

“The tests for all certificates should if possible be carried out under the direct supervision of a member of the RAF Physical Education staff (except for the Basic Competency Certificate when the test may be conducted by Sqn Staff). Where this is not possible for the Intermediate and Advanced Certificates, HQ AC will accept a certification signed by a suitably qualified life-saver, or swimming teacher whose qualifications are to be stated, (eg RLSS Pool Lifeguard or equivalent, ASA Teachers Certificate for Swimming), or Regional Sports Officers or Wing Sports Officers. An independent qualified lifeguard still needs to be present for safety cover.”
