Summer Camp Minimum Age

What is the minimum age for summer camp? With the new lower age has the age requirement for camps been lowered?

UK camps - Enrolled and 1st class. No minimum age (ACP237, Ch3 Para 30d)
Overseas camps - Minimum age 15, plus 1 UK camp (para 31c)

I think you will find the 1 UK camp bit was repealed ages ago as there physically aren’t enough UK camps to make it viable.

Not according to the latest version of the ACP (1.08), but it may have been loosened.

Cadets selected to attend overseas camps must be at least 15 years of age at the start of their respective camp. Additionally cadets must have attended at least one UK, or equivalent ATC-organised, camp of at least one week’s duration. HQAC may vary the levels of eligibility for special camps and this would be notified in the annual notification letters.

Well they certainly haven’t enforced it for the last 5 years. It’s not even mentioned in the letters from HQAC.

No age limit for UK camps, unless they specify otherwise.

I think it’s preferred that cadets have done a UK camp as Daws says there aren’t enough opportunities for cadets to do UK camps anymore to make it an enforceable requirement. When you had summer camps with 80+ cadets it would make them more eligible.
One of the biggest things with foreign camps now is ability to pay, if a cadet’s family can afford it that seems increasingly to be the determining factor. I went on foreign camps and even by comparison were cheaper than they are today, although they are pretty good value.
