Is there a set procedure/form for ordering a new squadron sign for the outside of the building? Ours is rather faded.
Works order to your RFCA.
DO RFCA produce the signs as well? I was under the impression that there was a system within our supply chain to ask for one, then RFCA fit it.
Down here the process seems to be to raise a works request to RFCA via wing.
The sign then magically appears and is fitted.
*Well, that’s how it’s supposed to happen… The reality is that I’ve lost count of the number of times over the past 5 or 6 years that we’ve requested a new sign. It still hasn’t materialized and we’re still displaying the faded blue sheet with the white-wash of the water-soluble paint they used.
When our new build was going up, I was left to send the design for the sign off to the supplier on behalf of RFCA (who paid for it and put it up) as the WExO was away on leave…he wasn’t happy when our design was considerably different and better than the standard
