Squadron Identification Badges will be worn on No 3 uniform

What’s the best way to do this?

(Asking for a friend, obviously :joy:)

I’ve always managed with warm soapy water and either a scrubbing brush, brillo pad, or my nails. I’m sure some kind of alcohol would be effective on more stubborn marks.

Edit: alternatively, you could swap out for clean ones and have staff take them home to clean and return to local stock.

WO James Tye is selling some with Velcro TRFs.

I was thinking just having it printed onto vinyl stickers & see how they work…

Last quote from Green Frog I had eyes on was from Feb 2025:

“Sqn id badges are sold in batches of 70 @50p per badge + VAT +£3.95 P+P

so 70 badges would cost £45.95p”.

That may have gone up as that was last FY, but this might help those who need a slightly more accurate bearing of cost associated with this change.

Stay on topic.

Yes this is still the cost, but minimum order is 70. (Not that makes a whole different I need 80 just to kit out the current cadets)

This is incorrect, the RAF can’t wear green jumpers with PCS MTP.

I bet they do though…

I can confirm with my own eyes that the KCS cut about in Green Woolly Pullys whilst in MTP on cold winter days

Well I beg to differ - lots are seen at Northolt, and not just KCS.

@AlexCorbin - Is there a reason why staff can’t wear the sqn identifier? Maybe not make it compulsory, but individual choice?

Maybe making staff identifiable to Squadrons would lead to bad behaving cadets to refuse to take orders other than from their own staff but with anonymous staff they won’t know who they are dealing with?

None of that makes sense.

Staff are appointed to the organisation not the unit. If we are on duty with own cadets there’s no need. If it’s multiple units then staff form a combined management team.

so it could cause more confusion although this is where the idea of a wing or region TRF springs from a little.

I think I’ve still got the RAF TRF on my blanking plates. Shows how often I wear my uniform now

Mine is embroidered directly into the plate

Nice job! (At the top of the plate, I hope?)

Photo taken from public facing Facebook page, so please don’t @ me for sharing faces…

I genuinely think it looks pretty good with the unit IDs. And good job 134 for getting on it and getting them sorted so quickly!
