So whats changed!?

So, all the grief that TK was getting and now the new Cmd’t is in post…what has changed?

Has he done anything to improve things?

Has he revoked or reinstated anything?

Early days, but what are the first impressions and prognosis?

Well, it’s been 6 weeks and there so far has been no massively outrageous moves by HQAC, which we were getting on a monthly basis previously, so that’s nice.

He’s already been out and about visiting various Sqns, Wing HQs, Regions etc. Which is good.

As you say, it’s early days for any massive change to take place. But so far so good from him, imo.

Watching the London Lord Mayor’s parade on BBC all other Cadet forces were mentioned and were seen, but no Air Cadets. Always used to be…even under TK.

We’re certainly there, I have cadets there!

RAFAC getting a shoutout for Lord Mayor’s Parade isn’t really within scope of the commandants responsibility.

I thought they (the BBC) misidentified the RAFAC as 600 City of London Aux Air Force :man_shrugging:

The L&SER Band and Cadet Contingents were shown at about the 25min mark on iplayer

He’s interacting a lot with Sqns on social media - not just liking but sharing, and commenting. It may not be huge (although to be fair must be a fair amount of time) but its a small gesture that’s appreciated

I would say promising, but it’s only 6 weeks.

Will be interesting to hear what comes from his conference at the end of the month :man_shrugging:t2:

In all seriousness and reality change will take years. So i personally would expect to see anyrhing drastically different for the next year or so.

A period of no change would be good in many ways, allow things to bed down.

Against that we have the need to fix things that do need to change and the sooner the better.

The morale at HQ seems higher amongst the CS staff, that will be having a mild effect on productivity.

Big changes will take some time, likely not even been a strat board meeting under the new commandant to push any changes.

Some great PR on Lord Mayors parade and cadets well on view but appears they never really quite get the name right, but missed it this year as was poppy collecting…….
