I’ve decided my beret is a spot too big for me. I’ve had it submerged in hot water for a few hours but I’ve just got it out and not really noticed any shrinkage. I was just wondering if anyone had any better ideas? Need it done by tomorrow!

Tumble dryer for 10 mins until just about too big. Should then shrink a touch more for the following day. Low heat though!
Ah ■■■■■■, I’m in student accommodation so it costs to use the dryers and theres only one setting for it which is something like 70 minutes! Thanks for the idea though, might try replicate it with a hairdryer.
Leaving it in hot water wont really work… its need to dry.
If you put it in hot and cold water alternately, leave it in till soaked and the place it on a radiator it should work.
The other option is join the CCF and grow your hair till it fits.
Haha, bit old for the CCF now I’m afraid! Thanks for the advice, it’s drying out now on my radiator and I think it’s shrunk slightly, enough to pass inspection anyway.
Except that drying it on a radiator will probably leave in in a crumpled mess that won’t pass inspection…

Not to worry, the beret turned out absolutely fine and passed inspection! It’s now shrunk to my head too, so double win!
