When it comes to approving sqn events whether it be a course or teams discussion event or local events etc anything that requires only sqn approval and not to wing etc. Who issues the permissions for this for someone to be able to self approve the sms events? As I do most of all the sms events on my sqn but I can’t self approve as I am not the oc so how do you get permission to self approve?

Only the OC can do the self approval bit AFAIK? And their permission is granted from the RC.

That’s what i thought that’s a shame as can be difficult sometimes when you need to make last minute sms events especially teams or a sqn course to try and then have to get my oc to approve it when they are away.
Think of it not as ‘self approval’, but ‘sqn approval’’. It’s not about individuals being able to self approve, but for an OC to look at an application and approve it locally.
So from your example it makes sense, as the OC should be still be checking what’s going on, to then approve.
Also if your oc is away you should be able to get a sector officer to approve?
Why is the corps sooooooooo bad at updating thing. That is a great planning tool except that the link to MOMIDS takes you too the old way of getting a forecast that doesn’t work any more. Why is that file still live. it has been gone for 2 years.
