If a cadet is old enough to require a CRB check to have been carried out - i.e 18, and they don’t have one, then are they not suspended from the Corps pending receipt of the clearance?
Same with staff?
If I had a cadet who was 18, but hadn’t received their CRB, then I wouldn’t be happy sending them on any activities where they would be mixing with under 18s - purely for their own (the other 18s) safety.
Or is it HGAC once again not knowing their own policy on this subject?
Don’t tell their highships at Cranwell, they live only for paperwork and faff. The whole rigmarole around over 18s is pure administrative faff, with the sole exception of the CRB. For all that it’s worth.
We do a number of activities over the summer and 2 years ago I sent cadets home with consent forms for each activity to cover the period of the activities, with the caveat we need the form back or they won’t be able to participate. As a result I have a form for each cadet for each activity in a folder. Before this it was a mindless accumulation of consent forms. What I do might not be right, but so what, parents don’t want or need repeat forms to fill out and I don’t want or need to spend ££££ on paper and ink. The parents have been really good in advising of any current medical conditions we need to be aware of.
