Short term, hope for relaxation of restrictions. Longer term, go for air rifles - if you have the space. a 5.5m range requires approximately 7m as a minimum length. No ammo restrictions, etc, for transportation - pre-enrolment cadets/CFAVs can use them.
Even without the current ban, one of the ranges I wanted to use my private Anschutz (for the cadets) has a RAU (not ACO) ruling on range orders - “use of private weapons by cadets is prohibited.” So, even if the ban is lifted, I would have to trek to a range further away. ***

Personally, I would hope that those on high would see the difficulties & remove the Wg Marksman requirement - if all you can get to shoot is L98, then imposing a restriction that stops cadets getting to the L98 level = very counter-productive.
