Restrictions on Photography in VGS

I can see your point, however the primary task of the contract is to provide an aircraft for CFS QFI training and EFT - AEF (and UAS) tasks are secondary. You can’t just go and get another aeroplane as a stop gap - all the documentation is Tutor specific, all the techniques taught are, to an extent, Tutor specific. There are also very few consolidated fleets of any aircraft in the UK which would be an aeroplane of suitable performance. Everything would then need to be validated for a different type. So you can’t just switch to something else.

As for the gap in AEF, no, it isn’t ideal, and as a repeat issue, no one can complain that the contractor are taking the only solution to dispose of the problem altogether.

Anyone in that category needs disassociating with any cadet activity rather swiftly.

Why should people bash HQAC. It’s got very little to do with them.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have got quite alot of thread creepage (if thats a valid term  !) here.

Can I please request that this thread is kept for the VGS photography discussion and all Tutor discussions take place in the “props come off” thread.

Many thanks

Those who know do not speak. Those who speak do not know.

Isn’t that the HQAC motto? What’s the Latin translation?

:stuck_out_tongue:

Ban lifted, visitors have to seek permission from VGS staff before taking photos. VGS staff to be shown the door if there are any more screw-ups.

Qui scit non loquuntur. Illos qui loquuntur nesciunt

Any idea what the “screw-ups” were?

Only just got the memo of the ban down my way :!: where’s an internal communication review when you need one

I’ve not even seen it.

Internal communications … what’s that?

yes, simple little thing of a cadet going solo, oh and filming it for you tube

I’d have no problem with that so long as the camera is properly and safely secured inside the cockpit and isn’t serving as a distraction.

Blimey, and the ‘solution’ was to ban all photography and videography at VGS everywhere!?.. :?
That wasn’t an gross over-reaction to a total non-issue at all then.

Maybe it was the poor choice of solo song? Or bad vocals brining the Corps into disrepute?

Do you reckon it was? Of course, if it was it would have to be of an approved type and certified to be fitted in one of the Queen’s gliders, so not as simple as it seems.

Either way, I see major issues with any solo Cadet taking any form of video of themselves. Potentially opens up a whole can of worms.

Do you reckon it was?[/quote]Probably not, but I wish it is something which the VGS could offer as an added service. Handy for posterity and potentially useful for debrief
The cameras would need to be permanently fitted of course as there is seldom time to faff about and bolt on a go-pro when you are trying to send someone up on a circuit.

A suggestion for either of the replacements. Something for CGS to consider.

That wasn’t it. Keep guessing.

…possibly a picture of a ‘bird’

You might say that, Jellybean, I couldn’t possibly comment.

Out with it then…
