Rank Structure between Cadet Forces

So you show up to a parade with your squadron and find a CCF(RAF) section there. You’d just bundle in together and march en masse?

Indeed, mine traces back to 1916 and many pupils lost their lives to both conflicts.

No.
I think youve misunderstood.
I meant if the ccf marching together. I.e. if from 1 school and they mixed the army and air etc.

Not mixing acf and ccf army or atc and ccf air.

JSP 814 (Policy and Regulations for the MOD sponsored Cadet Forces) quotes Queen’s Regulations;

"CF will march in the following order:

a. Sea Cadet Corps
b. Combined Cadet Force (RN, RM, Army, RAF)
c. Army Cadet Force
d. Air Training Corps"

A footnote states that “Following adoption of the Volunteer Cadet Corps as a MOD sponsored Cadet Force, and until Queen’s Regulations are formally amended by the Royal Navy, the Volunteer Cadet Corps will march behind the Sea Cadet Corps and in front of the Combined Cadet Force”.

Yes, Im well aware of the regulations.

That’s interesting, does that still apply where CCF are present in individual sections or have they just not thought about that?

I suppose the real world test would be Lord Mayors Show which all the Cadet Forces attend enmass.

I think that would depend on the size and relationship of the respective units.

I’ve had the ACF provide the escorts for my Squadron banner on one of my units because I physically didn’t have anyone to do it. I had just taken over and it was a every small run down unit, we provided the band for remembrance day and that was our entire unit plus 1 spare who had the banner.

The parade orders dictated that all standards were to be paraded together behind the RBL standard with escorts, I didn’t have any so the friendly ACF who were our neighbours stepped in and provided 2 escorts and an NCO so that we had a full banner party.

The thing is those regulations have no real authority over a civilian parade run by the RBL. The RBL decide who goes where. They may agree to change the order if you show them the regulations, but they are under no obligation to do so. These regulations would apply at a proper parade run by one of the services.

Oh I know, used to have real issues with a local parade putting us behind the SJA Cadets who didn’t March, caused chaos.

I thought it was because we are all gleaming in our No.1’s - best foot forward and all that

Unfortunately Sea Cadets have the best looking uniforms when it comes looking smart on parade & along with the Royal Marine Cadets knock us for six. CCF vary between awful to full tunics.

Thankfully they both balance out with the quality of their marching.
