Well we know what wing you’re from now
That was already very public knowledge
Just use lieutenancy areas instead.
I prefer my County Palatine
Unfortunately, many of those are wrong too: with some still based on the made up nonsense ‘counties’ of the 1972 Act.
Didn’t he turn out to be the Sith we were all looking for?
Stole the theme of the joke I was going to make
Use the Ceremonial counties. Much easier.
If only it was the senate, all its gets us is some inbreds and Floating cylinders
With regards costs we funded ours as a 65th anniversary commemoration via crowdfunding. All contributions came from alumni, ex-cadets giving what they felt appropriate.
This way we didn’t take away from our cadets, and those who still felt strong links to the squadron were able to contribute. Further we were able to communicate that creating an official badge meant that regardless of the future of the squadron or the RAFAC, the existence of the squadron would be recorded officially forever.
The full cost was raised within just a month.
That’s amazing and forward thinking. #goodnewsstoryfromtheRAFAC
Perhaps should be best practise for other Sqns to adopt - @OC.1324 perhaps this idea should be shared with the influence team to generate interest in your work.
I’m certainly writing it all down so it can be considered should we release any future guidance!
We saved ourselves £200 by doing it many, many years ago when it was only £450!
Given inflation and interest rates the last few years, you might have been better off investing the £450 and doing it at today’s price
This is the way.
Amateur…
Oh wait
For those who are interested, I was looking for a useful resource I could use to sanity check that units aren’t asking for something that is already taken.
I stumbled across this, which seems to be a great resource. I’ve reached out to them to say hello. I think it will also be quite useful for general education and inspiring potential applicants with an accurate view of how badges can look and what tends to inspire certain depictions.
The top picky is the old regional blue. All in favour of the new one.
That’s just another name for lieutenancy areas: some of them are still subject to LGA 1972 vandalism.
Not entirely, Bristol has a LL, but isn’t a Ceremonial County, it’s in Gloucestershire.
