RAFAC civilian endorsed PPL

Even blue isn’t available for most! Less than 10% of my sqn got flying slots in the last calendar year, the overwhelming majority of my unit will never achieve the Blue Flying PTS.

For an organisation called Air Cadets that’s actually scandalous.

More than us.

But then anything is more than nothing.

They’ve not taken place since 2020, but they’ve not been abolished, merely paused…

Don’t forget they are funded by RAFCT not RAFAC.

That’s how this organisation rolls

Not paused by RAFAC though

Interesting Criteria for award of RAFAC Gold Flying Badge - a Freedom of Information request to Air Cadet Organisation - WhatDoTheyKnow

So basically, even before Tayside collapsed, RAFAC admitted to this badge being impossible to get!

Very progressive.

I don’t think anybody needed a FOI request to work that one out!

And yet, they will still have purchased several thousand of the gold wings.
They’ll be in a drawer at HQAC along with several thousand parachute badges.
The drawer has a label on the front that reads, ‘Look What You Could Have Won If You Joined 10 years ago’ Badges.

You mean we have a progressive training syllabus that doesn’t provide progressive training?

We advertise things that we don’t do?

I’m shook.

But don’t forget….you can still advertise them as ‘opportunities’ to new recruits.

So we’re becoming a Schrödinger cadet force.

Activities are both available & not available at the same time until somebody asks to do them.
