There was some discussion about this after the town hall, but within that thread and effectively “pre roll-out”.
What experiences does anyone have with using Chromebooks or ChromeOS Flex under the RAFAC licences?
One of the comments and replies on digital hub suggests that Docs/workspace was under trial and not able to be accessed… almost 12 months ago. As far as I can tell, this still isn’t accessible?
Many months ago, HQAC were recruiting a few volunteer primary roles to manage all of this from the top. I’m unsure if those roles were filled, but if they were, that would be the best place to ask?
I also know Jill was spearheading this, and she’s now clearly gone 
Yeah this isn’t the place for official answers, but we’re just starting using this so if there’s anyone out there that’s far further along implementing and using, possibly already jumped some hurdles or had some troubleshooting, then this seems a good and visible space.
I can at least confirm to others that this forum isn’t blocked…
I’m with ya! I’m intrigued to follow this thread then, as we’ve not used it yet.
The comments on the digital hub seem fairly positive. Other than someone thinking NI isn’t in the UK 
I signed up to be a manager for my unit, but haven’t tried installing it yet.
I’m prioritising trying to install Win11 instead over the next could weeks, but will try Flex if I can’t install 11.
We looked into it but we don’t have the spare hardware to run it. All the kit we have is Windows, we’ve been through the Win 11 upgrade.
We need Windows to run the Microsoft apps. I don’t use ChromeOS but I’d be keen to hear how well the corps PPTX and Illuminate files work on it, as it could be a useful addition for teaching if it is able to run all our content.
Had it on some of our laptops from the start of the rollout. You need to use personal rafac email to setup manager account not a role account. Over than that no issues setting up.
Usage wise seems to work well for cadets when they can remember their username and password
we have obtained some chromebooks from them and as soon as you start it is asking for your login bader details but if we sign and set it up to our personal account how is a cadet suppose to use it?
Do we have to set it up with our login or is there another way?
After first set up, Cadets log in with their details. It’s just linked to our Microsoft SSO info so any RAFAC Bader account can log in to the system.
