With the current scottish parliment election coming up and with the heavy push for a indy2ref. Been speaking with some people about this and how it could impact the corps and most believe that RAFAC would simply cease to exist, or reform in other ways losing its “RAF” side of it, and also how it would impact the region (SNI)
Open to hear out other peoples thoughts on what could happen.
SAFAC, Scottish Air Force Air Cadets
As Scotland is only a small country of 5 million people would they have an SDF Scottish Defence Force and have a purple SDFC
Would Scotland have a defence force? The SNP grew out of Scotish CND and many SNP activists are very left wing anti nuclear and to a greater or lesser degree anti armed forces.
Scotland has about the same population as Denmark and Finland and Norway - all of those countries manage to maintain significant military forces - indeed one could argue that all of those countries are vastly more prepared for war than the UK is….
i suspect the two are not mutually exclusive - the UK/MOD forces are based on voluntary stepping forward and a highly selective joining process - the MOD can “afford” to turn away candidates and be picky as they don’t have to accept anyone
