RAF Club under threat

Just waiting to join at the moment! As things are I don’t fancy a trip into London just yet… Much safer out here in the sticks!

That’s been my experience as well. Had a few interesting conversations with Regulars in the Running Horse. They’ve always been very supportive of Cadets (as are almost all the Regulars I’ve met on RAF stations too)

But is it not equal? :joy::joy:

Seriously though, thanks for putting my mind at ease, it is appreciated.

Shall we, umm, keep talking about the RAF club? :grimacing:

Reopened with everything not in topic pruned as much as possible.

Censorship at its finest  George Orwell would have a field day!

Just be grateful that you don’t see what we see. The place where all of those posts and threads have to live, it’s dark in there.

A bit like the RAF Club basement when the power goes out. And boom! Back on topic

Just joined; £12 a year for the first few years - better go and spend some money in there then to help keep them going. Very painless joining procedure.

£12.00?

Jesus. I pay £104.00 a year!

First few years after commissioning is only £12 - then depending on rank jumps up to regular pricing.

I gave them the option, sign me up based on my previous life, or on my current RAFAC life.

Very politely, they opted for the current, so I too am on the £12 bracket.

Will have to make a trip down to take advantage of it.

Victory services club is in a bad place too. I got an email from them the other day saying they were finally having to lay staff off

The whole hospitality sector is in a bad way. Better off supporting local places IMO.

VSC is my go to in London to be fair…

I’m in a local lock down and have to stay in my Local Authority area. I have to think local.

Membership card arrived today, along with a document the size of an Argos catalogue (remember those) labelled, very simply, as “RULES”.

Looking forward to taking me mum for an afternoon tea.

My partner has a London hospital appt. so will use that as an excuse for a stay over and spot of dinner before taking my mum - as per previous forum advise.

Lovely.

Have they been asking for free advertising?!
