Radio teaching requirements

I’m quite confused on who can teach which levels of radios. So who can teach blue etc?

ACTO73 makes it clear for Blue at least, stating at Annex B “Any member of the RAFAC, Staff or Instructor Cadet, can deliver the course, as long as the standard training pack is used.”

Higher levels require instructors to be approved by the RRCO/WRCO but levels of supervision/competence are detailed in Annex L

As above anyone can teach First Class or Blue Radio but you need to be signed off as an assessor for Blue by your WG Radio Off.
For Bronze likewise you need signing off, for adults that usually means attending a Cadet course and being assessed.
Cadets can now also assess one level down so a Bronze cadet can assess Blue if signed off by Wg Radio Off.
Usefully Cadets can now transfer their radio quals to adult volunteer service.

As above - this is how it occurs in our Wing.

there is no prior knowledge test or qualification needed to hold before instructing radios (although nothing to say MOI is not useful)

signed off by the Wing Radio Officer is all that is required. As indicated turn up to a Wing run course, teach a lesson to show you know 1- how to teach 2 - can teach and 3 - know the subject and then assist with the practical assessments to understand the expected pass/fail level its a big tick against your name
