Hi, I’m just asking for advice about problems surrounding promotion.

I am a senior cadet who has been in the corps for 2.5 years. Out of all the cadets on our sqn I have the highest attendance to parade nights and outside squadron activities. I recently attended a JNCO course and I feel that there isn’t much else I can do to impress my CO.
We currently have 3 NCO’s on our sqn (2 Sgt’s and 1 Cpl) with only 1 Sgt turning up regularly. So for a sqn struggling with NCO’s I’m surprised no promotions have happened.

I guess I’m just looking for any advice to help me?

Be brave enough to go an ask your oc what you need to do.

Itll show willing and you’ll know exactly what hoops you have to jump through

But make sure you do what the OC says you need to do before you ask again. After the third time one of my cadets asked without taking the previous advice on board I pretty much decided he wasn’t going to get beyond his current L/Cpl
