Process of transfer

Yet my wife’s DBS was transferred when she RESIGNED from one care home job and APPLIED for another as a mobile carer with another company as it was deemed to be the same role.

What a waste of taxpayers money.

The DBS provide a service, it is for each organisation to have their own policy, we do now support the DBS Update Service which makes things super easy.

I’m not slagging the DBS service, I’m asking why our organisation is putting barriers in front of people who want to volunteer when so many are leaving instead of using common sense.

It’s another subject (and maybe for another thread) but you’d think my service quals (eg) first aid, security, information management etc. would be transferable but I’ve been told they’re not.

Sorry if I’m coming across as a moaning old @*&!er but I get so frustrated by the “computer says no” principle instead of a human making an informed decision about something based on evidence, facts & experience.

Rocket scientist the SCC are no different, we’ve a member of staff (CI because of this) that captain’s the worlds largest oil tanker through the singapore channel every 4 weeks, SCCs answer?, “we dont think your qualified to teach nautical navigation, you’ll need to do our nav course” :joy::joy:

Oh I can imagine - I wasn’t allowed to change a simple 4 pin landing lamp connector when I was posted to the Typhoon Maint Hangar despite being an Aircraft Electrician for 24 years.

One of our local RAFAC Sgt’s isn’t allowed to drive the Wing minibus despite driving 57 seaters for a living (I don’t the ins & outs of why not).

Heaven only knows mate, the major has answered my questions and pointed me in the right direction (hopefully) in regards to publications etc, will follow this up, hopefully be back in blues sooner rather than later

I’m transferring from Wales to England next month so I’ll see how that goes as well.
