Preparing to Return to F2F Activity... Again/Still

OC Home Command is very clear that I won’t be away every weekend off anymore.

Given I have a disabled partner and recent situation with her mum, if the worst happens weekend activities and camps will be a thing of the past I would think.

Heard that staff will be expected to have completed all the mandatory training and in date on FA, DBS, etc.

I think you missed my point BB…
By being allowed I mean will your wife/husband/ partner allow you out to play

This is part of the return to F2F checklist is it not?

Yep staff members not allowed to return if those boxes aren’t ticked/one staff missing one training module will mean Sqn not be be permitted to open in some regions depending on the RC

Fixed that for you

On the other hand spending all this time stuck with our partners means we are also likely to see an increase in the number of single CFAVs who will have more time (and even with kids possibly every other weekend) free to pick up some of that slack.

Quite possibly. Though mine volunteers elsewhere and we quite liked having our separate ‘hobbies’.

I think my significant other is very much looking forward to getting me out the house…

Should I be worried? :joy:

I went bouldering this afternoon :innocent:

(#SorryNotSorry)

I wish! Since all the local centres are now climb only with those you live with, that puts me at a loss! Never keen on going bouldering on my own, much more of a rope and harness with a partner kind of guy

I thankfully managed to get some outdoors stuff in at the end of lockdown one when it was legal again! But that’s about it in coming up to 12 months!!!

Just means before taking cadets climbing again I’ll need at least a quick run though. Maybe take some inspiration from Jez Brown and start doing abseil setups off the stairs! (His lock down videos were really good!)

I went bouldering with someone I don’t live with, and as far as we know that isn’t against the guidelines where we are… (well, we’ve been several times anyway!)

Unless you’re in tier 1 it is against the law as you are not allowed to mix with someone that you do not live with indoors unless you already live with them or they are in your support bubble.

I’m in a different Tier system, and it is within the law to mix indoors as long as it’s not a private home  (there are 4 different Tier systems… typical London-centric viewpoint, forgetting about us others   )

Ah, fair enough I guess. I’m talking from England’s point of view! You can’t mix indoors with those you don’t live at all. (except for work, volunteering etc).

I keep forgetting the UK no longer exists.

Anything outside the M25 is bandit country where us simple yokels live.

I checked with all 3 - separately, obviously - and I’m ok for now.
