In a tier 3 area and got notification yesterday of the kids squadron planning to return after the half term break so some happy kids.
Seem to be following the guidance of youth activities being allowed to happen and hopefully all will go to plan.

We’re in tier 3 and are planning to get back in a fortnight.
(someone at HQ keeping track of people’s tier and return dates to narrow down which squadron everyone is from)
Check out CAC latest missive on FaceAche. 30% of squadrons are back.
Duh. That’s why a percentage of my posts are FAKE NEWS…
Just happens to be 100% of posts…
Link?
Wow, VGS flying cadets. I don’t think I’ve seen a gliding allocation for years. I was almost looking forward to going back but with loss of staff and cadets, partial parades etc it’s going to be hard work.
Take off the rosy tinted spectacles.
There is no way that one VGS can provide even a small percentage of gliding to cadets. The persistent in using only VGS facilities, rather than expand to use local BGA sites, has knocked gliding on the head for the last 5 yrs.
Add on transport issues linked to Covid19 & the added difficulties with the new IBN for sqn minibuses.
This a million times
Nothing going on in Wales, none of the Tier stuff here, we have a proper lock down. Not allowed to have any fun here.
Makes it easier in one sense in that at least the rules are easy to follow.
Are you allowed to buy microwaves again yet?
We can just buy one on the internet if needs be.
Seems a lot of the retailers have opted for the most draconian interpretation of the guidelines which has left the government scratching their heads.
Commandant has sent a nice letter to those of us trapped in the land without microwaves though.
IBN 51/20 - RAFAC Involvement with Remembrance and Armistice Day Events
Key points
Due to risk from COVID-19, official RAFAC attendance at Remembrance and Armistice Day
events is to be limited:
· Maximum of three RAFAC members to attend each event.
· No banners or standards are to be paraded.
· Only local authority-approved and risk assessed events are to be attended.
· A PiPE/Westminster activity is to be submitted and ACP 112 followed in respect of PME.
Well this hasn’t been thought through. Maximum three people, staff included. Given that they always say too avoid being the only member of staff, that means two staff and one cadet?
which contradicts our Regions guidance! so back to the drawing board!
Yep, LaSER had specifically said that banner would be okayed!
Large Sqn attendance will not be permitted. A token presence only should be in attendance e.g. Cadet Banner party and or Bugler plus supervisory staff and wreath layers.
This was only sent out five days ago so clearly there’s been no communication higher up about this IBN coming out.
Well as our local event has been majorly cut back and invite only (we weren’t invited!) then I think at least for the Staff it will be a Covid safe glass of Port at home at 11am. As for the Cadets, I hope they get off their XBox / PlayStation etc…
