Pouches on webbing?

So I’ve got a set of molle webbing and I was wondering how many utility pouches people have on theirs. For reference, I currently have five.

Five utility pouches? What in the name of Odin’s Raven do you keep in them?

Nothing, as of yet.
I bought a set of webbing and had enough room to fit five pouches, so I bought a couple more pouches and then realised I had no idea what to do with them

Top tip - fill your webbing only with what you need.

If doing FT stuff properly then your webbing goes everywhere with you, so you don’t want excess weight. Put other stuff in your daysack.

Thanks, I’ll fill as many as I can and then figure out how many I need.
I still have no idea why I thought it was a good idea to get five pouches

If it helps, I’d suggest:

Little first aid kit in one
Water bottle and burner in another
Mess tin and snacks
Maybe have a spare for rifle cleaning kit, or gloves etc

Shouldn’t need much else in there.

Are they actual fUtility pouches? or LMG/Water Bottle pouches? because the Osprey fUtility pouches are tiny. You would need 5 just to fit anything in. You can’t get a water bottle in one for a start.
My advice would be to go for two-3 LMG/Water, maybe exchange one for a First Aid Pouch (which is massive and can fit mess tins in. and then use the Sharpshooter ammo pouches, as they can actually hold stuff. (like mugs ;-))

Well what I currently have is one utility, 3 LMG, and 1 UGL but I’m obviously using them as utility pouches.
I’ve got my first aid kit in the utility, water bottle in the UGL and mess tins in an LMG

ditch the mess tins - get a crusader cup.

first things first: what do you use your belt-kit for?

if you (and your Sqn/Sector/Wing) regularly uses it for 24/48/72 hour exercises on cold, wet training areas then you need a well thought out set-up of ammunition, water and utility pouches and, much more importantly, a decent 30/35 litre daysack.

if you wear it for about 2 hours every three months in order to fire a rifle on a range you need ammunition pouches, a water bottle pouch and some pockets to fill with Haribo.

I’m an ACF instructor and regularly run the 2 star fieldcraft cadre. My webbing contains: Waterbottle + mug, weapon cleaning kit, gloves, cam cream and an ammo flask. That is it. When I get rations in it I put a bit of them in, but otherwise I keep it light. Everything else can go in your bergen or daysack. I used to keep my jet boil in my webbing but don’t even bother with that any more. I could probably remove a pouch or two.
