I came on here just needing a bit of advice in regards to what colours piercings have to be. Around sqn I have seen other cadets with silver, gold and clear retainers. I just got my ears pierced and am going on a wing camp and needed some advice on my next steps.
I have got silver studs in at the moment but I am not sure if that’s allowed.
I understand I have put my wording a bit bad and apologise for that as my grammar is not great.
Any advice on my next steps or what is regulation would be wonderful.
ACP1358, para 0171 is what you’re looking for! Have a look there yourself because it’s got some picture for guidance, but here’s the important bits:
Additionally, if ears are pierced, women may wear up to four earrings per ear (three in the earlobe, one “helix” stud at the top of the ear). Earrings in the earlobe may be studs or “huggie” hoops that sit flush to the ear (if helix jewellery is worn, it is to be a stud). Studs must be no larger then 5mm in diameter.
…
During Ceremonial events one small, yellow gold or silver ear-stud may be worn in the bottom of each earlobe and helix earring are not to be worn.
It doesn’t say what colours are allowed for non-ceremonial events, so I’d say play it safe and limit it to either gold or silver. But the studs you have in at the moment should be fine.
