Photos of targets required

Hello everyone

I am currently developing a shooting app for use within the Air Cadets and I need your help.

To improve the accuracy of the scoring system, I am looking for clear photos of fired targets from real range use. The more examples I can gather, the more reliable the app will be when identifying shot groups and scoring them correctly.

The two targets I need are:

• NSRA Tin Hat 25 Yards, 5 Target (NSN 6920 99 439 0298)
• Number 29 Target (NSN 6920 99 463 8467)

If you have any photos of these targets after being fired, please share them. Ideally the whole target should be visible and flat, with good lighting. All personal details can be removed if present.

Thanks very much for any support. It will make a huge difference to the accuracy of the app.

I don’t have any photos I’m afraid, but what are you planning for this app to do?

Email the wing shooting officers or put it in the teams channel. I bet a couple of large scale camps and you’ll have a lot of data to train the AI engine to score.

I expect he’s looking to use photos of targets to train an AI engine to recognise strikes on target and automatically score. Not a bad idea. Needs lots of training data, therefore.

We use the Target Scan App to score targets but it does not do what you are looking for but it does help if you look at the targets with the App with the targets on a clear light surface. They suggest a blue light box for preference. Hope this helps

Thank you for the info! That’s helpful to know. I’ll try using a clear, well-lit surface and consider the blue light box suggestion.
