Own Up, who messed up bivviing

I can’t see it being tent related given the wording of the email and the immediate ban on bivvying.

It’s not equipment-related, it’s procedural and risk-assessment related. It is serious and I don’t want to go into details; ask your Wg staff if you need to know. I was briefed by CCF TEST today.

However, I’d be interested in the exact wording the ATC was given. The wording to CCFs was ambiguous: it referred to something like: all overnight camping and bivvying for fieldcraft is to cease…

Does that mean all overnight camping, or all overnight camping for fieldcraft? i.e. is there a ban on overnight camping for AT?

I would though expect this to be resolved pretty quickly. They want to issue new guidance on risk assessments and safety.

Fieldcraft etc immediately and tenting for DofE and AT would be “direction” in the next 36 hours. Either way round it does seem OTT.

Mods can this be locked to stop rumour control. It’s a serious mater and I’m sure HQAC will communicate more in due course
