I was curios as to the policies and approaches everyone s squadrons take up, with regards to senior cadet NCO’s being tasked with planning off squadron visits and trips.

how much freedom are they afforded?

It depends on the Cadet and what they want to do.
I have previously had Cadet NCO’s plan weekend camps (with support), I’ve also had them plan and run community events. No reason not to utilise them as you would any other member of staff.
They will need support, as would anyone on their first attempt or 2 and generally they will either be given a framework to work to or they will come to me with an idea seeking approval.
