I had a huge respect for the previous OC. He will be a very hard act to follow. Might that person be you, or someone you know?
A demanding but very-satifying position

There will be some who follow on here saying that a blind untrained chimp will be able to do it. That being so, said chimp will do a better job than the poster could ever do on their best day.

Getting in a pre-emptive snipe there, Prune?
The two recent SNCO engagements at ATF have been a huge improvement over the old guard so far as I have been able to tell and they bring with them modern qualifications, recent experience and a fresh outlook. ATF had stagnated and it was about time that the pool was stirred up.
The new OC ATF will have a big job to do but I would hope he/she brings his own shoes with them rather than trying to fill the pair left in the office when the previous incumbent moved on. They too should have recent relevant experience, a modern outlook and an appreciation of the task required.
I think the future looks bright for ATF.
They need as said to be their own man / woman and people in the organisation need to allow them to be like this.
What I would like to see in the new bod -
I think they must be fully aware/appreciative of ;who they are delivering to (ie people doing full time jobs who may be self-employed who need to get tme off) as such cancelling courses should be a total no no, what happens after and in terms of number of courses, timing and availabiity. I know a few teachers and people who work in schools, especially, who have struggled as they don’t have enough courses in school holidays. The irony here is that teachers are one or have been one of the groups targeted as staff in recruitment.
I would lke to see a mobile element in so much as they go around the country and deliver and speak to people, rather than just sitting at Cranwell being faceless names.
