Wondering if anybody can help me. I’m looking for female no 1s, but can’t seem to find any. eBay only have jackets or skirts or jackets & trousers, and I can’t afford the £400 or so somebody told me it would cost from Turner Virr.
Is it worth me buying a set of jacket & trousers from eBay, then approaching Turner Virr (or another tailor) & seeing if they can source material to make me a skirt to match? Or just save up the money for a new set?
Thanks in advance.
Are you cadet, snco or VRT?
It’ll be very difficult to source matching material. £400 is expensive for something that wouldn’t be worn on a regular basis. My personal opinion is to wait and keep watching something will pop up eventually
Try your parent station? Ask if any have been handed back in?
Give RAF Halton stores a call. They may be able to help you out.
You may get charged but it won’t the the T&V prices.
There should really be a ‘wants and for sale’ section in here.
You could also give Cranwell clothing stores a call.
I got some virtually brand new No5’s from there that belonged to some young flying officer that had just been chopped for £150!!

Wish I could have chopped some students for £150 - would have saved a lot of tedious paperwork when I was at DIOT!
